I am the Clinical Director of Psyche Therapy Centre. The team here and I are passionate about providing compassionate and empathetic treatment and helping others towards psychological wellness. I carry out psychological therapy for a wide range of issues with an integrative approach. I offer various evidence-based therapies including Person-Centred therapy, Cognitive-Behavioural therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment therapy, Solution-Focused therapy, Schema therapy, Compassion Focused therapy and Mindfulness. I put each person at the centre of my work and tailor my approach and therapies to help people discover their own ways of dealing with their difficulties to develop their full potential.  Over the past ten years I have worked for several organisations, universities, schools and the NHS providing mental well-being support.

Psychological Service Manager

As Psychological Service Manager I am responsible for conducting pre-assessments, organising the practice, managing administration and projects, and assisting clients and therapists. I am a trained peer supporter which has developed my ability to support a range of issues and needs. I have previously worked within disability rights organisations and within Amnesty UK as I care deeply about people, their wellbeing, and their rights. I have developed educational workshops on topics such as LGBTQ+ mental health and disability rights and I have an MSc in Equality and Human Rights. I believe that therapy is such an important tool to better yourself and get to a place of stability and wellness. It is therefore important to me to create an accessible, safe, and supportive space for our clients to utilise this tool. I will usually be at the reception area so if you see me in the practice, feel free to come chat any time!

I recently joined the team as an Administrative Assistant. I’m a creative problem solver with a passion for helping others. With many years of experience supporting businesses in their day-to-day activities and development, I bring strong organisational and multitasking skills to my role. I strive to create a positive, welcoming environment and am always looking for innovative ways to improve efficiency—I’m a bit of a tech enthusiast! I’m also actively involved in various local projects, reflecting my commitment to community well-being. I am dedicated to supporting our therapists and always put the well-being of our patients first. I’m excited to be part of this team and look forward to contributing to our shared success. I will sometimes be at the reception desk so if you see me in the practice, feel free to come say hello

My aim is to help people progress in life, increase their wellbeing, and meet their goals. I have an integrative style, which means I believe it is important to have the right combination of therapeutic approaches to meet the needs of the individual.
I’ve trained in and utilise evidence-based therapies including Schema Therapy, Somatic Experiencing Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Person Centred Therapy and the Integrative Trauma and Attachment Treatment Model. In addition to working with a broad range of challenges, I specialize in trauma and attachment related concerns and provide trauma specific treatment for people at all stages of their healing journey.  Over the past ten years I have worked in a range of roles within the helping profession across the U.K. and Canada with children, youth, and adults. This has allowed me to develop a broad and unique skill set that informs my understanding, style and approach.

I have many years of experience working with various mental health difficulties within NHS and third sector settings. I have expertise in working with issues related to psychological trauma, such as PTSD, complex-PTSD, emotional regulation, relationship difficulties, and negative self-view. I will work collaboratively to understand your difficulties and develop a support plan. I use evidence-based approaches, such as EMDR, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy, Schema-Focused Therapy, and Narrative Exposure Therapy. I take a strength-based approach meaning whilst working on past difficulties, I will help access and strengthen existing coping skills and ways to support yourself. Together we can work through your difficulties, towards your goals, and help you live in line with your values.

I completed my Postgraduate studies at the University of Strathclyde in 2010 and continued professional development (CPD). I studied MSc in Focussing and Mindfulness in 2011. As a Counsellor and Psychotherapist, I have professional registration and membership with the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) adhering to the BACP Ethical Framework. I have applied person-centred and evidence-based therapeutic and supportive approaches in various environments including schools, hospices, healthcare settings, and addiction services. I specialise in several areas including bereavement, loss and grief, addiction, PTSD & C-PTSD, sexual abuse, rape, and intra-familial child sexual abuse. I can offer different therapeutic modalities with a psychoeducational approach and can provide individual, group, and family counselling both in-person and remotely for both adults and children. I offer individualised support to each of my clients, and I am an integrative practitioner.

I am an experienced EMDR therapist with 25 years of practice specialising in working with trauma. I am a senior accredited practitioner with experience of working with children, adolescents, adults, and couples. I have provided counselling for diverse clinical issues both short and long term and have offered clinical supervision for individuals and groups across the country since 2011. My therapeutic approach is person centric and relational which emphasizes the importance of the therapeutic relationship, focusing on warmth, trust, and respect. My intention is to create an empowering alliance with the client where I prioritize client autonomy and work collaboratively to achieve their goals. Informed by psychodynamic theory, I pay attention to attachment patterns and relational themes to facilitate healing and transformation.

I have experience working with various presenting issues, such as anxiety, depression, OCD, low self-esteem, and relationship issues. I am experienced in working with individuals from a wide range of cultural, ethnic, and economic backgrounds, and LGBTQ+ individuals. I aim to provide an inclusive and supportive environment. I will place your needs at the centre of therapy, tailoring the approach to meet these needs. Whether it is a space to make sense of thoughts and emotions or work towards specific goals, I am here to support you. I recognise how daunting therapy can be, so I hope to provide you with a warm, safe space to explore your difficulties and manage them effectively

I understand that sometimes you need support in making sense of your situation or even just a space to be heard. In therapy, I aim to offer a warm, compassionate environment, free from judgment that will support you to explore your difficulties and find ways of managing these. I believe it is important for therapy to be a collaborative process and I place you, your needs, and your perspectives at the heart of this.

I am a counselling psychologist committed to fostering positive change and well-being in individuals’ lives. I hold a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology. I gained a solid foundation in therapeutic techniques and evidence-based practices such as person-centred therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), ACT, DBT, and EFT. I provide psychological therapies for anxiety, depression, PTSD, interpersonal issues, grief, and developmental and transitional difficulties. I have gained substantial experience in helping clients with trauma and complex trauma, and I can work with young people and older adults. I integrate various therapeutic approaches to tailor my interventions to clients’ unique needs from a pluralistic perspective. I believe in creating a safe, non-judgmental space for clients to explore their thoughts and emotions. Therapy is an opportunity to treat invisible pain, which needs sensitivity, understanding, and compassion for my clients, which fosters them to heal and thrive.

I am a Counselling Psychologist trained and working in Person-Centred Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy approaches and others therapeutic approaches, such as Schema Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy based on the client’s needs.

My aim is to provide a safe, warm and confidential space that will work as a facilitator for the development of a strong therapeutic relationship and the support of the client’s psychological wellbeing.

Soul, our furry colleague, is a cute little Cavapoo who is training to be a therapy dog. He loves cuddles and going for walks and is often sporting a lovely coat. He brings a lot of love and energy to our practitioners and hope he can be a support for you too. He will not be in the practice most days and if you are concerned about him being there for any reason then please just let us know!
